But was rebuked for his iniquity: the dumb ass speaking with man's voice forbad the madness of the prophet. II Peter 2:16
Sometimes you think, if anybody asks me to do "just one more thing," I am going to scream! We find ourselves saying yes to things because we want to help genuinely, and we want to ease others' burdens. Sometimes our assisting others causes us to neglect our affairs. When Balaam, the prophet, was determined to take a path that the Lord had not designed for him, his donkey begins to derail him to protect him (Numbers 22:21-39). We must get into a habit of saying no or praying first before taking on unnecessary projects and others' ideas. This road leads us to frustration and exhaustion, which often causes illness and depression because we are stretched too thin. Stop the madness in your life today. Examine the things you are doing and if they are not in the purpose and plan of God, then let them go. Bow out gracefully. Reclaim your joy and freedom from busyness. Other people's plan doesn't have to be your agenda. If it doesn't add value to you or God hasn't given you the strength and intent to do, then stop the madness today. Just say no and be okay with saying no.
