Somedays I just try to wrap my thoughts around true friendship and what that looks like and just what is true friend. I ask myself “Am I a true friend?” What would I do if someone really needed me at moments when I am just focusing on myself? Take for instance, Facebook says others are our friends and we have anywhere from 1000-5000 “friends” on social media. However, would these friends genuinely be there in a crisis? Some of them will be because they are friends on and off Facebook, so they are aware of our daily struggles. Will they rejoice with you when things are going well for you (new homes, marriages, relationships, graduations, accomplishments, new babies, new jobs, job promotions, etc.) and are they truly saddened by the loss of your loved ones, loss of jobs, when family and friends are ill, etc.). Please be careful if you are not found in the final category. Being jealous of others will not stop their blessings from flowing, but it will stop yours.
He who withholds kindness from a friend forsakes the fear of the Almighty Job 6:14 ESV
