The Brokenhearted

I don’t think there is anyone who can say they have never had a broken heart if they are over the age of ten. Life is so unpredictable and just when you think all is well, something or someone disappoints. We should be mindful to know that no matter how bad the devastation, there is always a sunny day where the sun shines and dries all our tears. You remember your first teenage love or “crush” and you thought the sun and moon revolved around that person? For some, it was true love and you have been together forever even into your older ages. For others, a few months in and we found out that the person was “out of love” with us and had moved on to greener pastures. Yet if you are reading this you must have survived your broken heart even when you didn’t think you would. God was near even then and He continues to mend our broken hearts when we find ourselves with a heart shattered in a million pieces from pain, hurt, and disappointments.

The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit. Psalms 34:18 ESV
