Many times, I receive prayer requests from people who simply wants God to move on their behalf. I am so honored when I receive these requests. I place them on my prayer wall and pray over them. They could have asked so many people to pray as they begin to share their prayer needs. God has called us to pray without ceasing. Does this mean we neglect our day-to-day obligations and do nothing but pray during our awake hours? No, it does not, but we are always to be found praying. Before we do anything, we should go into our places of prayer and ask the Father what His will is. When Nehemiah heard that the wall had been broken down, he immediately begins to pray and weep. Prayer came naturally to him because no doubt he had dedicated his life to prayer and praying for the needs of his people. A life of prayer leads us to not only opportunities to pray for our own needs, but the needs of our brethren.
When I heard these things, I sat down and wept. For some days I mourned and fasted and prayed before the God of heaven. Nehemiah 1:4 NIV
