How's Your Prayer Life?

And when you pray, do not heap up empty phrases as the Gentiles do, for they think that they will be heard for their many words. Matthew 6:7 ESV

One of the greatest and most powerful weapons we have is prayer. Always praying in the spirit, making our request known unto God, enters us into a space of lifting him and letting God know that he is first and foremost our King, and we depend on him for everything. Prayer is not just you speaking some words; Prayer is warfare. Prayer is intercession. Prayer is worship. Prayer is our time spent alone talking to God when we have moments where we need to tell God about things in our lives. That's a form of prayer, but then there are other times when you will have people ask you to pray for them, and you will need to go into intercession and stand in the gap for them.

God is looking for people that will pray; that will stand in the gap; that will stand up and begin to speak the Word, which is His truth against situations that are happening on the Earth. Prayer is going to be one of your greatest weapons. Learn how to use it very, very well, and it's not to be used to receive material things, but it is used to honor God, to partner with God, to get into his presence and begin to speak His Word and remind Him of His Word as we pray his word back to him. Stand up in boldness and begin to pray the Word and pray without ceasing. Does that mean that we are in constant prayer every second and every minute? No, we must work, we have lives, but praying for all things in all seasons as we begin to lift up God, you'll find yourself praying throughout the day when you say things like help me Father, or thank you, Lord. Those are prayers, and our worship is praying. Jesus was a man of prayer, and He is our role model. Are we modeling ourselves after Him?
